Plan prepared to resolve waterlogging issue in Goriya village

The district administration has prepared a plan to resolve the issue of waterlogging at Goriya village of the district. This project will cost Rs 9.71 crore.

Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya while sharing the information about it said the plan would provide a permanent solution to waterlogging issue in the village. At a meeting held here on Wednesday, he directed the officials concerned to get the project approved and start the work at the earliest.

“Under the project, underground HDPE pipeline up to 10 km, RCC sump well, pump house, 11 solar powered tube wells and other structures will be constructed. The problem of waterlogging at Goriya village has become a cause for concern for residents for a long time. The problem will effectively be solved through this plan,” he added.

It was told at the meeting that modern technologies would be used in the plan that would not only solve the problem of waterlogging, but also be helpful in water recharge and environmental protection of Jhajjar district.

Two ponds will be built under the plan, one in Jhamari village and second in Dhalnawas village. The purpose of these ponds is to control the water level of the area.

The DC directed the officials to ensure the excavation of the ponds and proper utilisation of the soil.
