Urban Local Bodies Minister Dr Kamal Gupta today said the government had extended the last date for property tax interest rebate and other exemptions to March 31.

Now, 100 per cent rebate would be allowed till March 31, 2024, on the interest on property tax (due till March 2023) and 15 per cent rebate on the outstanding principal amount. Apart from that, 15 per cent rebate was being given on property tax for the year 2023-24.

Gupta appealed to the property taxpayers in municipal areas to immediately self-certify their property and avail themselves of the exemption. He said notices were being issued to all property taxpayers in municipal areas who had not deposited their property tax for quite some time. If a taxpayer does not deposit the property tax even after the notice, his property will be sealed.

He said if there were discrepancies in property-related details, the person concerned could file a complaint on the online portal https://ulbhryndc.org.
