Haryana authorities have again fortified the border with Punjab at Shambhu near Ambala after farmers resumed their protest march towards Delhi on Wednesday. The authorities fear farmers could use this route to enter Haryana to reach the National Capital.

Elaborate security arrangements have been made at the border to stop the ‘Dilli Chalo’ march as hundreds of farmers continue to camp at the Shambhu border.

According to sources, farmers started gathering at the border near Ambala since Tuesday evening after Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) leaders urged farmers from Punjab and other states to reach the Shambhu border and the National Capital, respectively, to press for their demands.
