Private doctors told to report suspected Covid cases in Karnal
In view of the recent Covid cases, the health authorities have directed all private doctors to report any suspected case and ensure proper testing using the RT-PCR method. The instructions were issued during a meeting chaired by Dr Anu, Deputy Civil Surgeon and Nodal Officer for Covid, and Dr Simmi Kapoor, Deputy Civil Surgeon, at Civil Surgeon office on Tuesday.
The authorities emphasised that vigilance and timely reporting would be crucial in keeping the situation under control. During the meeting, the private doctors were urged to strictly follow the Covid protocol as laid out by the Director-General, Health Services (DGHS). The doctors were instructed to avoid creating panic among patients and instead approach each case with calm and care. They were also asked to ensure their hospital staff strictly adhered to Covid-appropriate behaviour, including the use of masks and hand hygiene.
“All suspected Covid cases must be reported promptly and tested through RT-PCR to ensure accurate diagnosis and prevent further spread,” said Dr Anu. At present, there are two active Covid cases in the district. Both patients are in home isolation, exhibiting only mild symptoms and are recovering well, health officials confirmed.
