Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar launched an attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi after the latter accused the BJP and the Election Commission of malpractice in the Maharashtra elections.

Dismissing the allegations as baseless, Manohar Lal said, “Rahul Gandhi neither knows how to work nor how to run a party. It is like the proverb – ‘Naach na jaane, aangan tedha’ (one who does not know how to dance blames the floor).”

While interacting with mediapersons on Sunday on the sidelines of a workshop to mark the 11 years of the Modi-led BJP government, Khattar said that Rahul Gandhi has no concrete programme or agenda. When he fails to achieve anything, he starts looking towards others, rather than focusing on his own work.

“His way of thinking is pitiable. The habit of levelling accusations without any factual basis has become his trademark. People have seen through him, and his words carry no weight anymore,” he added.

When asked about the Congress’ recent organisational push and Rahul Gandhi’s reference to “three horses” in political strategy, Manohar Lal took another jab and said, “A person who does not even understand the significance of real horses is now comparing party workers to horses. Such petty language for one’s own workers shows his mentality. If a leader insults his own team at home, what kind of inspiration can he give to society?”

He also offered help in revival of the Congress. "I have said this before—if they are unable to do it themselves, we will help them revive their party."
