The two-day 12th Annual Athletics Meet of Chaudhary Devi Lal University started at the sports ground on Tuesday.

Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University (CRSU) Vice-Chancellor Dr Ranpal Singh was the chief guest and Chaudhary Devi Lal University VC Professor Ajmer Singh Malik presided over the event.

The games were held in two categories — for physical education department and other departments.

In the men’s 1,500m race, Rajat (other departments) and Navdeep (physical education department) bagged the first spots.

In the men’s 800m race, Mohit secured the first place while in the women’s 800m race, Jagdeep Kaur claimed the first spot.

In the men’s shot put event, Manjeet and Sahil secured the first positions.

In women’s shot put event, Deepika (other departments) and Pooja (physical education department) secured the first places. In the women’s 100m, Muskaan (other departments) and Harbans Kaur (physical education department) won gold medals.
