Power Minister Ranjit Singh said 5,508 cases of power theft were detected in the past two days.

Addressing mediapersons, he said 507 teams comprising officials of the Power Department, CM flying squad, vigilance and police personnel, headed by officials of the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) and the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN), were formed to conduct raids across the state.

About 27,307 premises, including poultry farms, industries, mobile towers, water ROs, water and milk chilling plants, brick kilns, cold stores and roadside eateries, were inspected. — TNS
