Ranney well water supply line to remain closed for 24 hours

The Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority (FMDA) has announced that its main water supply line (Ranney Well- Number three- 900 mm) will remain closed for 24 hours between the November 11 and November 12 due to some construction work regarding interconnection of two pipelines.

The water supply will remain shut from 9 am on November 11 till 9 am on the next day due to the work regarding the interconnection of the line three and four on the By-pass road in the city, according to the officials of the authority.

Neha Sharma, a spokesperson of the FMDA said here today that though the laying of the lines had already been completed, the work on providing these interconnections of the supply lines had been pending and for which a shut down for 24 hours was required.

This will affect the supply of the drinking water in various residential areas which include sector-9, sector – 10, sector- 11, colonies in the NIT zone including Dabua colony, Janata colony, Saran Talab, Aggarwal Booster, Parshuram booster, Air Force station Parvatiya colony and adjoining pockets during the period.

While the residents of the areas are requested and advised to collect and store water in advance it will help the department in maintaining regular water supply in future, it is claimed. The department has released the helpline number of 8813078866 handled by an official of the rank of Junior Engineer of the FMDA for any clarification in this regard, says the notification issued on Friday.
