Various topics, including application of bio-process technology in functional food developments, evaluation of bioactivity and efficacy of functional foods, development of edible, biodegradable and smart packaging, formulation of sensor for detection of contaminants and pathogens would be covered during the course.

Bioprocess is being considered as a process and it deals with the design and development of equipment and processes for the manufacturing of products food, feed, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals from biological materials like bacteria, enzymes to obtain desired dairy products.

ICAR-NDRI former joint director Dr GR Patil was the chief guest on this occasion. He said that bioprocess technology was commonly used in dairy and food processing in fermentations and also focused on the applications of bioprocess technology in preparation of enzymes and other metabolites for development of novel ingredients for functional foods formulations and bio-preservations of dairy products.
