Renu Rani of Mohri village was unanimously elected Chairperson of the Panchayat Samiti of Bilaspur.

She is a member of the Panchayat Samiti from Ward 9. Her in-laws reportedly belonged to the Congress party for a long time and they joined the BJP only yesterday.

The post fell vacant after Sunita Gurjar was removed from the post of the Chairperson by bringing a no-confidence motion on November 28, 2024.

As per available information, the election for the post of the Chairperson of the Panchayat Samiti, Bilaspur, was held in the Block Development and Panchayat Officer’s office in Bilaspur town in Yamuanagar district on Friday.

There are a total 25 Panchayat Samiti members in Bilaspur and out of them 24 were present.

All present, the Panchayat Samiti members unanimously elected Renu Rani.

Renu Rani expressed her gratitude to all members after being elected unopposed.

She said her priority would be to carry out development works in all villages falling under the Bilaspur Panchayat Samiti.

On the occasion, Bilaspur SDM Jaspal Singh Gill, Block Development and Panchayat Officer, Bilaspur Kartik Chauhan, Naib Tehsildar (Election) Gulshan Kumar and other officials were present.
