Chandigarh, June 6

The Haryana Vidyalaya Adhyapak Sangh (HVAS) today demanded Covid vaccination for all students, teaching and non-teaching staff so that schools could be reopened.

CN Bharati, president of HVAS, said the decision was taken at an online meeting of the state executive today.

The meeting urged the state government to reopen schools by following all Covid protocols as online education had “proved to be a failure” in the state. “Despite government claims, over 90 per cent of students do not have the necessary infrastructure for online education. Even the government’s promise of providing free laptops and tablets to poor students is yet to be fulfilled,” he asserted. He demanded the refund of examination fee of Classes X and XII as the state government had cancelled these examinations.
