Presiding over a meeting with Superintending Engineers (SEs), Executive Engineers (XENs), Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs), and Junior Engineers (JEs) on Tuesday, he said the XENs and JEs had been directed not to take leave, so that development works were not disrupted.

Interacting with the media, he said the primary objective of the meeting was to ensure that there was no negligence in the repair and construction of roads.

Of 30,000 km roads in the state, 14,000 km were currently under the Defect Liability Period (DLP), and their patchwork must be completed by June 15. The repair work of 5,500 km roads, which was currently underway, was targeted for completion by July 31, he said.

He further said signboards must be displayed at construction sites, and an information board should be installed mentioning the names and mobile numbers of the XEN, SDO, JE, and contractor concerned, so that the public could contact them, if needed.
