A bus driver of Haryana Roadways was on Friday arrested in connection with the case of death of a girl student and injury to five other girls.

The bus driver Anil Kumar was produced before a court here and the court sent him to judicial custody.

In a tragic incident, a girl student Arti of Kutipur village was killed and five others were injured after allegedly being run over by a Haryana Roadways bus while they were trying to board it at a bus stand of Pratap Nagar town in Yamunanagar district on Thursday morning.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajat Gulia said one student died and five other students were injured in Pratap Nagar town on Thursday.

He said in connection with the accident, an FIR was registered against bus driver Anil of Sonepat district under Sections 105, 281, 125 (A) and 125 (B) of BNS and 72 (C) (A) of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914 (Haryana Amendment Bill, 2020) at the Pratap Nagar police station, on Thursday.
