Rathi refused to come down despite repeated requests by the team members and police officials accompanying them.

He threatened to hang himself from a tree with the rope if an attempt was made to cut the trees or bring him down forcibly.

Rathi, who is reportedly involved in litigation with the HSVP over the said site, alleged that the HSVP authorities had cut several trees at the site even though the matter was sub-judice.
