Rohtak MC launches ‘Safai Apnao, Bimari Bhagao’ drive

With a view to make residents aware of the vital importance of maintaining cleanliness to prevent diseases and stay healthy, the Rohtak Municipal Corporation has launched a special campaign titled ‘Safai Apnao, Bimari Bhagao’ in the city.

As part of the drive, the residents are being educated about separation of wet and dry waste, maintenance of cleanliness at public toilets and giving preference to the use of cloth bags instead of polythene bags.

Activities like regular cleaning of drains and making paintings depicting the crucial significance of maintaining cleanliness are also being carried out under the campaign, which will run till August 31.

“The underlying idea behind the exercise is to create awareness among the people that maintenance of cleanliness in the city is not possible without their pro-active support, efforts and cooperation,” said Vijay Singh, Joint Municipal Commissioner at Rohtak Municipal Corporation.

He said the Municipal Corporation had constantly been striving to improve the cleanliness mechanism and the work being done by the workers was constantly being monitored and assessed.
