Rohtak university students get jobs

The Department of Fashion and Lifestyle Design, Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLCSUPVA) conducted the final jury evaluation for its eighth semester students, marking the culmination of their academic journey with a celebration of creativity, innovation and industry relevance.

As per a statement issued by the university, students of the department undergo rigorous training in reputed production companies as part of their industry internship in the final semester.

Each student works on two commercial design projects, developing four to six professionally viable products during this phase.

“These real-world assignments allow students to gain hands-on experience in aligning their design sensibilities with market demands,” the statement maintained, adding that students showcased their final products before a panel of distinguished experts, elaborating on both the technical intricacies and aesthetic considerations involved in the design and execution of their work.

Amit Tanwar, Director, Bison World Shoes Ltd, was the external expert of the jury. The exhibited projects featured a diverse range of lifestyle products, including handbags, laptop bags, jewellery, desktop accessories, mini-furniture, home décor items and footwear.

As per statement, all eight graduating students, who underwent industry training, were successfully absorbed by their respective training companies.

“Our approach is rooted in industry-aligned pedagogy. These students have proven their mettle in professional environments by delivering high-quality and market-ready designs. Their placement is a testimony to their dedication and the department’s consistent efforts to foster design thinking and practical skills,” said Satish Ranga, head, Department of Fashion and Lifestyle Design, DLCSUPVA.

Faculty coordinator Dr Shelly Khanna said, “The jury serves not only as an academic assessment, but also as a launch pad for students into the professional world, reinforcing DLCSUPVA’s commitment to industry-integrated design education.”
