As part of the initiative, a dedicated corner for the students will be established at Swami Vivekananda Library that is located on the university campus.
The “civil services corner” will provide the aspirants with a comprehensive ecosystem for preparation. The students will get access to the extensive library resources of MDU, which include books, journals, reports and digital study material. A dedicated study space will be created to ensure aspirants can focus on their preparation without any disturbance. In addition, mock interviews will be organised to simulate the UPSC interview environment and to build confidence among the students.
Facilities for presentations, discussions and seminars will also be made available to sharpen their communication skills and analytical ability.
“The objective behind the initiative is to equip the students with the right resources, guidance and environment required for one of the toughest competitive examinations in the country,” maintained MDU Vice-Chancellor Prof Rajbir Singh.
“Experts from diverse fields, including academics, administration and civil services, will be invited to interact with aspirants and share practical guidance, tips and motivational inputs,” he said, adding that the university will sponsor the expenses of the facility in order to facilitate the students who wish to clear the said exam.
The Vice-Chancellor pointed out that Swami Vivekananda Library already serves as an academic hub on MDU campus, offering the students a 24x7 reading hall, a facility with a capacity of 2,000 students. “The ‘civil services corner’ will add further value to this learning environment by catering specifically to the needs of competitive exam aspirants,” he stated.
