A diamond ring worth Rs 15 lakh was allegedly stolen from a beauty parlour in Sector 29, here, while the woman who owned the ring was undergoing a waxing session. The woman, Gunjan Batra, a resident of DLF Magnolias, Golf Course Road, said the theft to the police after realising her ring was missing.

According to Batra’s complaint, she visited the Looks Salon at Cross Point Mall on December 18 for waxing. During the session, she removed her ring and placed it on the bed. After the waxing, Batra left the room, had her hair dyed and later proceeded to get a manicure. It was only when she sat down for the manicure that she realised her ring was still in the waxing room.

Batra immediately returned to the room but found the ring missing. When she inquired with the staff, she claimed no one provided any information. Unable to resolve the matter, Batra filed a police complaint, prompting the registration of an FIR at the Sector 29 police station.

A senior police officer said CCTV footage from the parlour has been obtained as part of the investigation. The police are continuing their probe into the incident.
