Haryana: Rs 37 cr set aside to bolster medicine procurement

The Haryana Government is providing better healthcare facilities to people by strengthening medical infrastructure and providing necessary medicines. Currently, 413 medicine components are available in the warehouse of Haryana Medical Services Corporation Limited (HMSCL).
In addition to this, approximately 500 medicine components are available in each district. About Rs 37 crore has been allocated to HMSCL under the state budget for centralised procurement of essential medicines in the current financial year. An official spokesperson stated that HMSCL had been established to strengthen the system of medicine procurement, for uninterrupted and hassle-free supply of essential medicines. Seven warehouses had been established in the state for proper storage and distribution of medicines and consumables.
