Rs 5.78 lakh looted from Canara Bank branch in Haryana’s Bhiwani

Chandigarh, August 4
A group of robbers on Tuesday looted Rs 5.78 lakh cash from a Canara Bank branch in Rewari Khera village, Bhiwani district, Haryana.
The masked youths were armed and opened fire to scare the bank staff and customers.
Three of them entered the bank and snatched the cash from the bank’s cash counter and rushed outside where the fourth accomplice was waiting in a car. The armed guard was not present in the bank at the time of the incident.
DSP Virender Singh rushed to the spot and began the investigation.
The bank official stated that the accused had snatched the cash on gunpoint and fled, the DSP said.
The incident occurred at around 11.30 and has been captured on the CCTV.
