Rs 700 crore for upgrading Alwar-Nuh highway

After years of wait, the Alwar-Nuh highway — also known as ‘khooni raasta’ due to the high number of mishaps occurring on it — will be upgraded to a four-lane highway. An amount of Rs 700 crore will be spent to upgrade the 47-km highway.

To address traffic issues

• A report has been sent and if there are any more changes, they would be made by the end of the month.
• The Central and state governments want to build this highway immediately to address traffic issues

It is expected to be ready by the end of next year and the project will be inaugurated before the Lok Sabha elections. Four flyovers will also be built on the road.

According to DPR, the flyovers will be built on Ambedkar Chowk of Firozpur Jhirka, Barkali Chowk of Nagina, Bhadas Shikrava Road and Gohana Chowk. The first bypass will be built on the highway from in front of Malab Polytechnic College near the Akeda Bridge. The second bypass will pass through Bhadas village in front of Government Model Culture Senior Secondary School located at Madhi near the Aasaisika turn. Shamsher Singh, the Executive Engineer of Nuh District Roads and Public Works Department, said some changes have been made in the detailed project report. Now, four flyovers and two bypasses are to be built on the highway.
