The first-ever panchayat adopted 11 resolutions in the meeting. The ‘Selfie With Daughter’ foundation held the event, which was attended by girls from Haryana, Himachal, Delhi, Punjab, Bihar and Chandigarh.

Sunil Jaglan, foundation chief, said the girls unanimously adopted the resolution to increase the legal age of marriage from the existing 18 to 21 years. The panchayat demanded that those families who marry off their girls below the legal age should be socially boycotted. — TNS
