Wearing black caps, khaki trousers and full-sleeved white shirts with sleeves rolled up, and carrying wooden staves (dands) on their shoulders, volunteers marched through different localities. Residents showered them with flower petals as they passed. Participants from various age groups joined the programmes, reaffirming their commitment to the nation’s welfare.
