The horrific incident behind what was being perceived as a black magic sacrifice of an 8-year-old boy has shaken the entire Manesar area. The child was sodomised by a teenager, who killed him after hitting him with bricks when he screamed for help.

On Monday, the police arrested the teenager, who confessed to his crime. He was produced before a juvenile justice board and sent to Faridabad correction home.

On January 4, the body of the boy was found from a vacant plot only 300 metres away from his home in Kasan village, near Manesar, and the police suspected black magic. A brick, a dead pigeon and boy’s chopped hair and his clothes were recovered from the spot. On the complaint of victim’s father, an FIR was registered against unidentified accused under Sections 302 (murder), 201 (hiding evidence) of the IPC at Manesar police station.

The police got a 10-minute CCTV footage in which the boy was seen following a youth around 9.30 pm after which he went missing. The boy’s face was not clear in the footage. Last night, the police finally reached the home of the accused, who was identified by his gait, where the brother of the accused identified him. The accused was rounded up, who confessed to his crime.

“It was a blind murder case but our police team finally nabbed the accused. The 17-year-old accused confessed that he was a drug addict and took the boy to a vacant plot. The teenager hit the boy on the head with a brick following which he fainted. Then, he sodomised him. We produced him before the juvenile justice board, from where he was sent to a correction home,” said Preet Pal Singh Sangwan, ACP (crime). — OC
