Saffron party’s Ghanshyam Arora scores a hat-trick in Yamunanagar

BJP candidate Ghanshyam Dass Arora scored a hat-trick by defeating Congress candidate Raman Tyagi in Yamunanagar.

Ghanshyam Dass bagged a total of 72,967 votes. However, Raman Tyagi got 50,455 votes and INLD candidate and former MLA Dilbag Singh stood third by bagging 35,981 votes.

Also elected mla in 2014 & 2019

Ghanshyam Dass Arora, a senior BJP leader, was elected MLA in 2019 and in 2014 on the BJP ticket from the Yamunanagar Assembly segment. He defeated INLD leader Dilbag Singh in 2019.

As per available information, 67.24 per cent voting (1,63,400 votes) took place in the Yamunanagar constituency in the Assembly elections. However, it recorded 67.25 percent here in the 2019 Assembly election. District Election Officer-cum-DC Captain Manoj Kumar said a total of 9,06,271 voters exercised their franchise in Yamuanagar district this time. Out of them 2,43,023 voters were from the Yamunanagar Assembly constituency.

According to information, Ghanshyam Dass Arora joined Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in 1967 and became an active member of the Sangh.

He was elected as district president of Yamunanagar BJP in 2003 and he also served as a state general secretary in the Kisan Morcha of the BJP Haryana besides working on a number of posts in the party.

After scoring a hat-trick, MLA Ghanshyam Das expressed gratitude to the people by holding a roadshow. Residents of Yamunanagar city welcomed the MLA by garlanding and showering flowers on him.

The roadshow started from the election office of the BJP and passed through Workshop Road, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk, Railway Road, Pyara chowk, Nehru Park and ended at the residence of MLA Ghanshyam Das. He said the people of Haryana and Yamunanagar had once again approved the policies of the saffron party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He thanked the people of Yamunanagar and BJP workers for the historic win.

“The promises made by the BJP before the elections will definitely be fulfilled,” said Ghanshyam Dass Arora.

He said the public had rejected the Congress and it had given a message that it had accepted the policies of the Modi government.
