The Sports Authority of India (SAI) centre in Kurukshetra, in association with the Police Department, on Sunday organised a cycle rally as part of Fit India Movement’s flagship programme, Sundays on Cycle. DSP (Headquarters) Sunil Kumar flagged off the rally, which witnessed the participation of 50 police personnel, and other persons.

The rally began at the SAI centre and covered various locations — including the Jindal Chowk — before concluding at the centre.

Kumar said a healthy person could easily fulfil every goal. Therefore, people needed to pay special attention to their health and fitness.

The DSP said regular physical activity not only improved physical health, but also promoted confidence. Technology had reduced our physical capacity and had also taken away our habit of fitness, he added.

“We are becoming ignorant of the traditional practices and lifestyles that kept us healthy. This campaign will work to connect people with traditional lifestyles,” he said. “A campaign to make Kurukshetra drug-free is also underway.”
