Saini visits flood affected areas in Hisar district

The affected people complained to him about the excessive water which had caused extensive damage and called for immediate measures to drain it out.
The CM interacted with the villagers when he reached flood-affected Bithmara village to take stock of the situation. He later went to Hansi region, where several villages were facing flood-like situation.
Meanwhile, waterlogging has been reported on the Hisar–Rajgarh National Highway, which disrupted the traffic on the highway. The water from Gangwa village has reached the road, flooding the houses and forcing residents to vacate their homes.
Thousands of acres of crops have been submerged and several houses have got inundated due to excessive flow of water in the habitation areas. Besides the excessive rain, a number of breaches in the canals and drains have aggravated the flood situation in the district. There is about three to four feet water in the fields in about 20 villages and in some areas houses had also got damaged. The state government has opened the e-Kshatipurti portal for farmers to report the losses for compensation.
Severe waterlogging has been reported in Gurana, Litani, Badhawar, Sulkhani, Ghiray, Mirzapur, Arya Nagar, Shahpur, Patan-Tokas, Banbhori, Chainot and Bhatla. Another minor channel — Rana Minor canal — breached at two points near the airport. The residents of Rajli village, who have been suffering from waterlogging for over a week, met Chief Minister led by sarpanch Sunita Devi, stating that 800 houses had been flooded due to heavy flow of water in the village. The villagers urged the Chief Minister to direct the administration to install pipes under the adjoining roads and the railway line to ensure permanent drainage arrangements.
Meanwhile, schools in several parts of Hisar district will remain closed for students on September 8 and 9 due to heavy rainfall and waterlogging of school premises. The teachers have been directed to take online classes.
