Retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Sameer Pal Srow has been appointed chairman of the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA), Haryana.

A notification to this effect has been issued by Sujit Kumar Bajpayee, Joint Secretary of the Union Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change.

Constituted by the ministry, the Authority is mandated to clear the public and private project keeping in view their impact on the fragile ecosystem.

Srow has been the Director General, Information and Public Relations, besides being deputy commissioner of key districts in Haryana.
