Former minister and six-time MLA Sampat Singh today rejoined the INLD after over 16 years in the presence of party national president Abhay Chautala and state president Ram Pal Majra.

Addressing a press conference, Chautala said Sampat Singh had been made the patron of the party, given his vast organisational experience. He alleged that Singh and Majra were “forced” by his brother and JJP founder founder Ajay Chautala to leave the INLD.

Saying that he had wasted 16 years of professional career after leaving the INLD and joining the Congress and the BJP, Singh said he would try his best to make the INLD an alternative to the ruling BJP.

Taking potshots at Bhupinder Hooda, a former CM, for allegedly giving him a raw deal when he was in the Congress, Singh claimed only the INLD could provide a non-BJP, non-Congress alternative in the state.
