Gurugram, April 24

The Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Limited (GMCBL) has launched a special bus for sample collection in containment zones.

The Mobile Covid-19 Sample Collection Bus is a modified Gurugaman bus that is equipped to collect samples and has technicians/phlebotomists on board. Three places have been earmarked in the city (see box) where the bus will halt on fixed-hour basis to enable portable sample collection.

“Patients who have been prescribed Covid-19 test by a registered medical practitioner may visit the nearest Gurugaman mobile sample collection bus during the designated hours. For clarity, the bus has been branded as Mobile Covid-19 Sample Collection Bus. The initiative is aimed at facilitating Covid-19 suspects/ patients,” said GMCBL spokesperson Vanita Akhurey.

The initiative is a joint collaboration between GMCBL and Pathkind Diagnostics and is supported by the state government and Municipal Corporation of Gurugram.
