Rohtak range IGP Mamta Singh kicked-off the plantation drive by planting the first sapling.

He appreciated the jail authorities for involving the prisoners in the plantation drive as well. The saplings were planted with the help of Japanese forestry technique ‘Miyawaki’.

Jail Superintendent Suneel Sangwan said the saplings were on one acre of land.

“The jail inmates will be given the responsibility to look after the plants,” Sangwan added.
