Returning Officer Ashok Kumar Meena has notified the schedule for the byelection to one Rajya Sabha seat from Haryana.

The member is to be elected by members of the Haryana Legislative Assembly.

Nomination papers may be submitted to the Returning Officer or to Gaurav Goyal, Deputy Secretary (Assistant Returning Officer), by the candidate or a proposer at the Haryana Vidhan Sabha Secretariat. Submissions will be accepted till December 10 on all working days (excluding holidays).

The papers will be scrutinised by the office of the Returning Officer on December 11. Nominations may be withdrawn on December 13. If the election is held, voting will take place on December 20 at the Secretariat between 9 am and 4 pm.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
