The BJP has demanded the sealing of state’s borders with Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Punjab to ensure free and fair polls on October 5.

In a representation to the Election Commission of India (ECI), copies of which were sent to Haryana’s Chief Electoral Officer, Varinder Garg, convener of BJP’s Election Commission Coordination Department, said the authorities should also get the checking of hotels, hostels and marriage palaces conducted so that non-voters did not stay there. This would go a long way in checking bogus voting in the polls.

Additional security measures should also be put in place at state’s borders to keep a check on anti-social elements, Garg added.
