Sector 16-17 RWA in Hisar opposes enhancement charges, demands upgradation of infrastructure

The Resident Welfare Association (RWA) of Sector 16-17 has opposed the imposition of the enhancement charges by the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP). In a meeting held at the Community Centre, RWA president Inder Singh Malik put forth the agenda and urged the local authorities to fulfil their demands. The meeting was presided over by Hari Chand.

Speaking on the occasion, Malik said, “Residents are concerned over the re-imposition of enhancement charges by the government on plot holders who have already cleared their dues under the Full and Final Settlement Scheme.”

While terming the move as “reprehensible”, he said, “The RWA will challenge it. We will take up the matter with officials of the HSVP and urge them to drop enhancement charges.”

He said, “There are some disparities in the charge waiver structure under the current scheme for those residents who have yet to settle their enhancement dues.”

The RWA also plans to take up its unresolved issues related to residential sectors with Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini through the State Confederation of Haryana RWAs, headed by convener Yashveer Malik.

“We will also approach Hisar (Independent) MLA Savitri Jindal to garner political support for the resolution of our issues,” said Malik.

During the meeting, participants highlighted infrastructure shortcomings particularly the inadequate capacity of the existing sewer line in their residential sectors. The association resolved to push for a separate sewer line for the hospital being built nearby in the same locality.

“Sewage has been overflowing from lines in our sectors for the past many months,” said Malik.

The RWA also protested allocation of 6,000 square yards of Jai Hind Park to an outsider and decided to meet officials and ministers to prevent the misuse of the public space.
