An expert lecture was organised at Indira Gandhi National College on Wednesday to empower students with tools for career planning. The theme of the event was “The Role of Self-Awareness, Imagination and Mental Ability in Career Building”.

Principal Kushal Pal emphasised the importance of making informed career choices in today’s era of multiple choices and opportunities. He encouraged students to engage in continuous self-assessment and personal growth to navigate their career paths effectively.

Delivering the keynote address, Ashwani Goyal elaborated on the significance of understanding one’s own personality, strengths and limitations.

He discussed various methods for improving self-awareness, and highlighted the importance of evaluating whether one was naturally introverted or extroverted. Goyal stressed the importance of imagination and mental capacity in setting and achieving long-term goals.

He advised students to place their creative vision at the core of their career planning and to align it with their cognitive strengths.

In addition to the lecture, a practical demonstration on fire safety was conducted by personnel from the Ladwa Fire Brigade.

The team educated students about preventive measures and response strategies in case

of fire emergencies.

Through a symbolic live demonstration, they showcased basic fire safety techniques and the correct usage of fire extinguishing equipment.
