Self-help group-run ‘swapan rasoi’ inaugurated in Yamunanagar
A self-help group has started a “swapan rasoi” (canteen) at ITI, Yamunangar, under the Haryana State Rural Livelihood Mission.
In the canteen, the food will be provided at subsidised rates to poor children. The canteen was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Parth Gupta. The DC said various types of training were provided by the Livelihood Mission to make women self-reliant.
He said “swapan rasoi” had been set up by Pushpa Rani, Atro, Sushma, Kavita Devi and Usha of self-help group of Dhaurang village.
He further said in the canteen, the food would be provided at a subsidised rate to poor children. “Such initiatives will bring more women forward, which will improve their economic condition and will help in the progress of the family,” said Gupta. He congratulated the self-help group and wished them further progress in future.
On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Naveen Ahuja, CEO Zila Parishad Virender Singh Dhul, Principal of ITI Deepesh Mahendru, DIPR Dr Manoj Kumar, former Principal of GNG College Dr Virender Gandhi, Devender Sharma and Devender Rana, both from the Haryana State Rural Livelihood Mission and other persons were present.
