HPCC chief Kumari Selja said the real face of the so-called ‘good governance’ of the government had come to the fore.

In a statement issued today, Selja said: “The ministers didn’t meet the public, offices were closed and there was no procession then where and why did they use fuel worth lakhs?” “The government has provided these figures in the information sought under an RTI, which have shaken the public and the system.” — TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.
