The All-India State Government Employees’ Federation has threatened to launch a nationwide stir from the next month if the government doesn’t change its stand on setting up the eighth pay commission, restoration of old pension scheme (OPS) and continuation with the policy of contractual employment and privatisation.

Federation president Subhash Lamba said the matter would be discussed at a meeting in Kanpur on December 28. He said the Centre’s decision denial to restore the old pension scheme had come as a major setback to lakhs of government employees.
