The state government has suspended Shahabad Block Development and Panchayat Officer (BDPO) Narender Dhull.

As per issued orders, the Governor has placed the BDPO under suspension with immediate effect. During the period of suspension, his headquarters will be at the office of the Director -General, Development and Panchayat.

As per information, he was suspended for allegedly misbehaving with the woman sarpanch of Yara village.

Unhappy with the situation, the sarpanch association had raised the issue with the Superintendent of Police, Deputy Commissioner and Chief Minister Nayab Saini, and sought action against the BDPO.

Meanwhile, Dhull claimed that baseless allegations were levelled against him as he was inquiring a complaint against the sarpanch. He said he would request the government to conduct a fair inquiry into the matter and take appropriate action.
