Sirsa will mark Independence Day with a grand district-level celebration at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium. Rajesh Nagar, Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, will be the chief guest. Sub-divisional events will be held separately, with local SDMs hoisting the national flag.

Deputy Commissioner Shantanu Sharma said all arrangements were complete. The programme will feature a march-past, PT display, dumbbell performance and cultural presentations. Families of freedom fighters and martyrs, along with government officials and employees recognised for excellence in their duties, will be honoured.

SP Dr Mayank Gupta confirmed that security measures have been strengthened and traffic management plans are in place.

A full-dress rehearsal was held on Wednesday at the stadium, where Additional Deputy Commissioner Virendra Sahrawat hoisted the flag and took the salute. He, along with SP Gupta, paid tributes at the Shaheedi and Freedom Fighter Memorials. SDM Rajendra Kumar and other officials were also present.

Rehearsals at the sub-divisional level included patriotic performances and cultural displays from various states. The sub-divisional events will be held at Guru Gobind Singh Stadium in Dabwali, Model Sanskriti School in Ellenabad, and Senior Secondary School in Kalanwali.
