Gurugram, November 18

The city police arrested a shepherd for allegedly molesting a Class IX student after breaking into her house in the Manesar area here.

The girl who was returning from school on foot saw him stalking her and ran home. Even though she reached near her home, he followed her and molested her. The accused was produced in a city court and sent to judicial custody.

According to the police, the incident took place around 2.40 pm when the 15-year-old girl was returning home. The 22-year-old accused, who lives in the victim’s neighbourhood, started stalking her and when the girl went inside her house he barged in and molested her. As soon as the victim raised alarm, he fled.

“My husband and I were on work. When we returned home in the evening, my daughter told us about the incident,” the victim’s mother told the police.

On the complaint of her mother, an FIR under the POSCO Act was registered at the women’s police station, Manesar. On Monday, the accused was arrested.

Police spokesperson Subhash Bokan said the accused was arrested and sent to judicial custody by a city court on Monday.
