The Minister of State for Sports and Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship, Gaurav Gautam, on Monday directed the district administration to shift a liquor shop from Nooran Khera village within three days.

Gautam was chairing a meeting of the Public Relation and the District Grievance Redressal Committee in Sonepat on Monday. Out of 24 complaints, he resolved 14 on the spot.

The residents of Nooran Khera village had demanded that liquor shop from their village should be shifted. Taking an immediate note over people’s demand, Gautam directed the administration to shift the liquor shop within three days.

On the complaint of Ramniwas of Garhi Bala village about the demarcation of the plot, which he got under Gramin Basti Scheme, the minister directed Zila Parishad Chairperson Monika Dahiya and Additional Deputy Commissioner to resolve the problem.

Rajesh Jakhar, national president, Madhukranti Bee Farmers Welfare Society, in his complaint about payment not made by a honey export company — Allied Natural Products Private Ltd — the minister constituted a committee, including SDM, DCP and District Horticulture Officer, to conduct an inquiry into the current status of the firm and its procurement sources.

The minister said officials should use their discretion to ensure timely and effective solutions to the people’s grievances. — TNS
