Three miscreants with their faces covered opened fire at the owner of a wholesale shop and looted Rs 90,000 from him in the Bahalgarh area last night. The shop owner sustained a bullet injury on his shoulder.

The Bahalgarh police have registered a case against three unidentified persons.

In his complaint to the police, Rajesh of Bahalgarh said he owns a wholesale shop — Rajesh enterprises — on the Bahalgarh-Meerut road. Rajesh said he, along with his servant Shanti Swaroop of Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, was in the shop when the three masked men came late in the evening.

The complainant added that they started beating up the servant and took away his phone. “As I tried to oppose them, they opened fire at me. I sustained a bullet injury on my left shoulder. Thereafter, the miscreants took away the DVR,” Rajesh added.

After making noise, people gathered on the spot and the injured shopkeeper was admitted to a private hospital. After getting information, police officials reached the spot to investigate the incident.

Inspector Rajiv Kumar, SHO, Bahalgarh police station, said a case under Sections 379B, 392 and 394 of the IPC and Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act has been registered. The SHO said the police are working to arrest the miscreants.
