The police have registered a case in connection with the murder of a middle-aged shopkeeper in the Ballabgarh subdivision.

According to complaint lodged by Dinesh, a resident of Kumarwada locality, his father Tarachand (44) was beaten to death by two youths identified as Kuldeep alias Kallu and Prince, residents of Azadnagar locality, on Tuesday morning. It is revealed that Tarachand, running a grocery shop had turned away the accused, who had come to procure some items from the shop last night, telling them that nothing will be sold to them till they cleared their dues. It is alleged that the accused who called Tarachand to meet them at a spot on Tigaon Road this morning, assaulted him with rod and sticks, as soon he reached to get payment. Tarachand was injured and rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. A police official said the postmortem would be done on Wednesday.
