Karnal: District JJP president Inderjeet Singh Guraya, along with other party workers and city residents, on Friday joined farmers’ protest at the Singhu border. “I am a farmer first and then a party worker. I can understand farmers’ concerns. I stand by them. The Centre should meet the demands of farmers, who are protesting in cold weather,” he said.

Kaithal village sarpanch resigns

Karnal: Pirthi Singh, sarpanch of Kaithal’s Mattor village, has resigned from his post in solidarity with the farmers. The Block Development and Panchayat Officer (BDPO), Kalayat, confirmed the development. Singh said, “The new farm laws will deteriorate the condition of farmers, who are already in crisis. I tender my resignation against the policies of the Centre.”
