The Sirsa Club elections scheduled for December 10 have been postponed after the State Registrar set aside a November 25 order of the District Registrar and suspended the election process with immediate effect.

The State Registrar has directed that the club’s membership list be re-verified and a fresh, valid list be prepared within 15 days. Elections will be held only on the basis of this updated list.

The registrar also ordered the appointment of a Returning Officer under the Haryana Registration and Regulation Act, 2012 to ensure transparent elections. The order came after outgoing senior vice-president Suresh Sharma challenged the District Registrar’s earlier decision, arguing that the voter list was not prepared as per rules. Following the hearing, the State Registrar issued the decision on 9 December, delaying the elections until the new list is finalised.
