Kumar said Sawan was a time to connect with nature. “Today’s plant can become tomorrow’s tree, giving shade, oxygen and life,” he added. He also said CDLU was committed to making environmental protection a continuous mission.

Environmental adviser Mittarsain Garg stressed the importance of proper waste management along with tree plantation. He said keeping the surroundings clean was necessary for sustainable greenery. He also shared the goal of making CDLU a zero-waste campus.

The plantation drive includes saplings of shady trees like neem and peepal, medicinal plants like tulsi and aloe vera and fruit trees like amla and guava. Each department has been assigned the responsibility to take care of the plants.
