Sirsa varsity upgrades its radio station, doubles broadcast time

The revamped station was formally launched on Wednesday, coinciding with the third day of Navratri. After prayers, the university began airing new programmes using advanced equipment, extending daily broadcast from three to six hours.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Vijay Kumar said the station would act as a strong communication bridge between the university and the local community. He stressed its role in raising awareness of education, culture and social issues, highlighting the importance of student involvement in content creation. Programming will now be available in Hindi, Punjabi, Bagri and Haryanvi, extending its appeal to both rural and urban audiences. Registrar Dr Sunil Kumar encouraged students to use the platform to hone their communication, presentation and technical skills, noting that the station would provide hands-on training for media students.
Radio Station Director Prof Sewa Singh Bajwa thanked the administration for its support, saying the upgrade had generated enthusiasm among listeners. The launch also featured a cultural performance by the Youth Welfare Department, attended by faculty, students and local dignitaries.
