Sirsa youth’s murder: 4 held, villagers block road

Residents of Tilokewala village in Odhan, Sirsa, blocked the Rori road on Monday morning, demanding immediate arrest of all those involved in the recent murder of a young man at a local hotel.

The youngster, 22-year-old Sunny, was reportedly killed two days ago by a group of drug addicts following a dispute.

As soon as the police received information about the blockade, Kalanwali DSP Sandeep Dhankhar and teams from nearby police stations reached the spot.

The officials assured the protesting villagers that the four suspects — Mamna Singh, Jaskaran Singh, and Inderjit Singh of Tilokewala, and Kuldeep Singh of Dadu village — had already been arrested.

Dhankhar assured the crowd that strong legal action was being taken against the accused and their associates. “None of those involved will be spared,” he said.

The police said 3-4 more individuals involved in the case had been identified, and would be arrested soon.

Following the assurance of strict action, villagers lifted the blockade after about an hour and a half.

Later, in the evening, Sunny body’s was brought to the village after a post-mortem examination. The deceased was cremated amid heavy police presence.

Two days ago, some youths had arrived at a hotel and asked the owner, Ramesh Kumar, for a plastic wrapper to consume drugs. When he refused, an argument broke out. The group then attacked Ramesh and his son, Sunny, with sharp weapons.

Sunny succumbed to his injuries, while his father’s condition is serious.
