Six get life term in murder case in Kurukshetra
The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge has sentenced six men to rigorous life imprisonment in the murder case of Ravi, who was shot dead in February 2021.
The court has sentenced Saurav, Rahul, Ashish, residents of Kurukshetra, and Sanjeev, Raju and Amit, residents of Uttar Pradesh, in the murder case.
A Kurukshetra police spokesman said on February 3, 2021, Sahil, a resident Amin village, in his complaint had stated that his elder brother Ravi was out on parole in a murder case. He was shot dead by four-five men near Gita Niketan School at Salarpur road. He was taken to a hospital by passerby from where he was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
During the investigation, Saurav, Rahul, Ashish, Sanjeev, Amit, and Raju were arrested by the police.
The court sentenced all convicts to life imprisonment under Section 120b of the IPC and slapped a fine of Rs 20,000 each. Further Saurav, Rahul, Sanjeev and Raju were sentenced to imprisonment for life and a fine of Rs 20,000 each under Section 302/120-b of IPC, seven years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 under sections 473/34 of IPC, and rigorous imprisonment of seven years and a fine of Rs 10,000 under the Arms Act. Further Sanjeev, Saurav, and Raju were sentenced to seven years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 each under Section 201 of the IPC. The sentences will run concurrently.
